CULTURE SHOCK
This major project is broken into several parts over a half semester. The premise of the project is to encourage students to expand their visual armory through exploration of other nations and cultures from across the globe. This project consists of branding, packaging, and publications.
Part I: Identity System
For the first part of the project the student is tasked with researching a nation or culture from a provided list. The student through their research must develop an identity system for a coffee company or resteraunt with appropriate universally applicable aesthetic parts to use on many different items. This system must utilize cultural references in an appropriate and sensitive manner.
Part II: Packaging & Menu
The second part of this project requires students to explore how their identities can be applied within a packaging system while also demonstrating how their typographical choices are displayed in a hierarchy.
